Managing Director of The Showbusiness Company, Kevin Aylward, has over thirty years experience of organising events for a variety of well known charities. He is also currently Chairman of the Dave Lee's Happy Holidays charity.

Most events arranged for a charity need to attract sufficient interest from the public to raise much needed funds for the cause. Among the most popular larger events we have arranged are:-

We are pleased to provide you with details on two of our most popular fundraising events for charities and other voluntary organisations.
German Bier Keller Night
A fun evening for all ages, with a great deal of audience participation. Our band will play three sets of forty five minutes each and therefore a full evening's entertainment is provided. The four piece band will cost around £700 and extra musicians are available at around £80 each.
Based on an attendance of 120 guests and with ticket prices of £12.50, a profit of around £1000 is easily achievable if you also have a raffle on the night.
'Fawlty Towers' or 'Father Ted' Theme Evenings
A unique evening of entertainment performed by top actors, including well-known performers from 'Emmerdale', 'The Royal' and other television series. The action takes place whilst your guests enjoy a dinner and therefore it is preferable to hold the event at a restaurant or club facility, although it can be tailor-made to fit any location.
The 'Fawlty Towers' evening features Basil, Sybil and Manuel who will meet and greet your guests and then perform various sketches during the meal. It all ends up with Manuel and Basil performing an hilarious flamenco masterclass.
The 'Father Ted' evening starts with Father Jack's funeral and a service of remembrance. Things just get crazier and zanier with lots of surprises, also incorporating Father Ted's confession box, the priest's cabaret and ultimately finishing with Mrs. Doyle's River dance Class and the Craggy Island Disco.
Fees for the 'Fawlty Towers' evening are approximately £1250 and the 'Father Ted' evening will be around £1500.
Profits from an evening of this type will depend on the venue and the costs involved in providing the catering. These evenings have been held at hotels where a full dinner is provided and ticket prices are in the region of £37.50 to £40.00.
We also have a number of professional companies providing murder mystery evenings, which also prove very popular with the public.

We are often asked whether we can obtain a celebrity to attend a charity event for either no fee or expenses only. Celebrities are often inundated with requests of this nature and they have to limit these appearances to a few selected events for charities they wish to support. Consequently, unless there are special circumstances involved, we unfortunately cannot assist with enquiries of this type.
